Denon Award Winners at this year's What Hi-Fi? Awards

How to find the perfect headphones for your holidays

With awards season now in full swing, last week saw the coveted What Hi-Fi? Awards roll into town. Taking place this year at the elegant Grosvenor Square Marriott hotel in central London, the hotly anticipated event sees the very best audio brands in the world rubbing shoulders with the UK's top publications across lifestyle and technology. Of course, team Denon were out in force to pick up a plethora of awards across the amplifier and micro system categories.

First up, in the category for "Best Home Cinema Amplifier", Denon dominated the field by winning two out of the three price categories. The Denon AVR-X3500H won the "Best home cinema amplifier £500-£1500" award and the Denon AVC-X6500H won the "Best home cinema amplifier over £1500" award. Both have recently received exceptional five-star reviews in What Hi-Fi? with the AVR-X3500H said to "represent further gains for Denon in the home cinema market, with added features and even more powerful performance". Similarly, on the AVR-X6500H it is noted, "Denon has made tweaks to further this model's sonic authority - and there's no greater praise than it replacing our reference home cinema amp".

Proving ever popular with the judges once again, the Denon D-M41DAB won the "Best micro system" award for the second year running. This is no surprise after What Hi-Fi? previously gave the verdict: "Denon has bettered itself in a field it was already leading. The D-M41DAB is impressive proof that great pound-for-pound hi-fi sound need not always mean several separate components". Building on the multi-award winning D-M40DAB, the new D-M41DAB features improved sound, style and facilities. The newly-developed discrete analogue amplifier circuit reduces signal paths for greater clarity and impact, while the new Bluetooth implementation combines convenience with an off switch to reduce its influence on the sound of other sources when not in use.

To read up on all the happenings of the event and further write-ups on Denon's winning products, the magazine's awards issue is on newsstands now.
