The Design Series

A classic platform with a modern design

With streaming services gaining popularity and the live music scene booming, it’s important to capture the essence of a true “music experience”
in the home.
So, what is the "music experience" that audio brands can offer?
We feel that Vinyl offers the listener a truly immersive experience, from the artwork on the sleeve, to the feel of the record. And that’s why we’ve
launched the all new "DP-400" and "DP-450USB", our first range of turntables in around 10 years.
These two new turntables combine over a century of experience in design and engineering for analogue playback with the very latest
technological advances.
The DP-400 and DP-450USB turntables are built for high performance as well as ease of set-up and use, while matching the sleek lines of our
Design Series range and renowned CEOL Series, but fitting the traditional designed component too.

It’s all about the process

Simply pick your favourite record, place it on the turntable, drop the
needle, then sink into the sofa and soak in the dense sound of the
analogue record.
It’s this ritualistic process that truly adds to experience of playing a
vinyl record.
While we enjoy this manual process, we also decided to include an
auto lift function that automatically raises the arm once the record has finished.
This helps prevent any damage to cartridges due to useless idling.

Faithful reproduction of sound

These two new turntables come with a specially designed plinth that dampen down resonances,
and is just 41cm wide, for a perfectly balanced aesthetic.
The weighted platter is belt-driven and includes an integrated sensor that controls the speed.
This helps avoid fluctuations and ensures pitch accuracy for the best listening experience.

S-shaped arm inspired
by a classic design

When designing the tonearm, we revisited the specifications
of the original tonearm which was used as a reference piece
for developing the legendary Denon DP-5000, our first
consumer turntable released in 1971.
Based on the specifications of this, and advice from expert
engineers from the time, we designed a new S-shaped tonearm
that reduces distortion and is fitted with a moving magnet
cartridge that has been carefully selected to match the tonearm.
This allows the needle to trace the grooves of the record more
accurately for an improved sound and enhanced experience.

Phono equalizer

on / off function

A built-in phono equalizer creates an open, enveloping sound stage that
enlivens your cherished vinyl collection while staying true to the original
recording as the artist intended.
This allows you to connect it directly to an AV-Receiver, system component
or integrated amp that lacks a phono terminal for seamless use.
When connected to an amplifier featuring a Phone EQ input the turntables
own Phono EQ can be switched off.

Easily convert your
recordst a digital file

With the Denon DP-450USB, copying you favourite LPs and
singles to a computer is made simpler than ever: it builds on
the specification of the DP-400 with the addition of a built-in
digital-to-analogue converter, which is able to transfer music
directly to USB storage connected to the front-panel
USB Type A port.
There's no need to connect the turntable to a computer:
simply plug in the storage device, select compressed MP3
or uncompressed CD quality WAV recording, and play the
record. It couldn't be any simpler.

Enjoy the high-quality sound
of your record in a digital format

Once digitised, your recorded files can then be played from the USB storage device on a computer, on your car stereo system, a range of USB-equipped Denon products, and HEOS wireless speakers.
To edit recordings on a PC, we also offer MusiCut software for Windows 10, allowing MP3 files to be manipulated, organised, and tagged with metadata, including cover art, to build your library.

Enjoy records with your favourite cartridges

Both turntables include a MM cartridge for precise listening and musical detail. As a
producer ofthe longest-selling cartridge in market, enjoy the Denon DP400 and
DP-450USB turntables with confidence. If you prefer listening via an MC cartridge,
you can easily swap out the existing MM cartridge to fit your audio preferences.

Sophisticated Design Series Aesthetic

Built for High Performance and ease of set up, the DP-450USB features a sophisticated
form factor and solid construction while the durable aluminium material offers a modern
aesthetic. Both models match the sleek lines of the Denon Design Series,
the renowned CEOL Series as well as Denon’s Classic 43cm HiFi components.
